چکیده

Hydrogen generation via electrochemical water splitting is considered an eco-friendly pathway for obtaining this desired alternative energy source, and it has triggered intensive search low cost efficient catalysts. Within context, four free-base porphyrins were studied as heterogeneous catalysts the oxygen hydrogen evolution reactions (OER HER) in alkaline aqueous solutions. TEM STEM analyses of samples obtained by drop-casting from different organic solvents on grids revealed a rich variety aggregates due to self-assembling property porphyrin molecules. Modified electrodes manufactured applying tetrapyrrolic macrocycles various surface graphite supports, one or more layers. Experiments performed 0.1 M 1 KOH electrolyte solutions allowed identification most electrocatalytically active OER HER, respectively. In first case, electrode was three layers 5-(4-pyridyl)-10,15,20-tris(4-phenoxyphenyl)porphyrin substrate N,N-dimethylformamide solution identified overall catalytically superior. second layer 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-allyloxyphenyl)-porphyrin benzonitrile displayed HER overpotential value 500 mV at i = −10 mA/cm2 Tafel slope 190 mV/dec.

Development of Ionic Liquid Modified Disposable Graphite Electrodes for Label-Free Electrochemical Detection of DNA Hybridization Related to Microcystis spp.

In this present study, ionic liquid (1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate (IL)) modified pencil graphite electrode (IL-PGEs) was developed for electrochemical monitoring of DNA hybridization related to Microcystis spp. (MYC). The characterization of IL-PGEs was performed using microscopic and electrochemical techniques. DNA hybridization related to MYC was then explored at the surfac...

Electrochemical properties of oxygenated cup-stacked carbon nanofiber-modified electrodes.

Oxygenated cup-stacked carbon nanofibers (CSCNFs), the surface of which provides highly ordered graphene edges and oxygen-containing functional groups, were investigated as electrode materials by using typical redox species in electrochemistry, Fe(2+/3+), [Fe(CN)6](3-/4-), and dopamine. The electron transfer rates for these redox species at oxygenated CSCNF electrodes were higher than those at ...

Electrochemical behaviour of graphite- and molybdenum electrodes modified with thin-film diamond

Films of undoped polycrystalline diamond were deposited on molybdenum or graphite substrates by hot filament chemical vapour deposition (HFCVD), using a precursor gas mixture of methane in excess hydrogen. The morphology and quality of the as-deposited films were monitored by scanning electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction, and the electrochemical activity monitored with...
